Vintage Milk Paint Background Technique
I love
vintage milk paint.
I use it all the time for backgrounds on ATC cards, my art journal and mini books. It's great when you want a vintage look. It comes in several colors, but they have a sample set that has many colors in it, which is what I got. I've had it a long time now, and I'm just getting to the point of needing to order some more.
Directions:
First paint a base of watercolor onto your paper and let dry.
Next mix 1 tsp. milk paint with 1 tsp. water. Paint milk paint over watercolor paint.
Working quickly before it dries, dab with a napkin or a paper towel.
Let dry. Seal with a sealant. The company I bought mine from recommends Mona Lisa sealant, and I have to agree that it works great!
These are just some examples from my art journals of other colors available and what I did with them.
