Make Your Own Fabric Embellishments

By Debi Devitt

I really like the look and feel of these fabric embellishments. They are just perfect for using up scraps of fabric. They make sweet embellishment for mini scrapbooks and full sized layouts alike.

The first thing you will want to do is to use some Heat & Bond or something similar to create a double-sided, sturdier fabric. Follow the manufacturer's instructions; it's very easy to use. I buy mine at Walmart in a big roll.

Next I create templates using my Coluzzle Cutting System templates and my Slice.

Next I simply trace around these onto my fabric and cut them out.

Finally, I embellish them by sewing around the edges, adding buttons and perhaps a little felt.

Here are a couple that I used in a layout.

Speaking of fabric, I don't know about you, but I have a lot of fabric that I would like to do something with. I recently found this interesting looking online course on sewing.
