Quick and Easy Mini Scrapbook

By Debi Devitt

This quick and easy mini scrapbook is perfect for the beginning scrapbooker or even the more experienced in need of a quick gift or card idea.

You will need:

1 piece of solid cardstock 12" x 12"
4 pieces of 12" x 12" coordinating paper
12" rickrack or ribbon
Any embellishment

Take your solid piece of cardstock and lightly pencil mark it off into 6" x 6" sections so that you will have four sections. We will name the sections as follows:

Upper Left Section = Section 1
Upper Right Section = Section 2
Lower Left Section = Section 3
Lower Right Section = Section 4

Cut out section 1 as shown.

Fold Section 3 over top of Section 4. Fold Section 2 down over Section 4 folding at 5-3/4" from top and again at 6" from top. This gives the album bulk room and to stand.

Cut approximately 3/8" off bottoms of Sections 3 and 4 to even it up with Section 1 when it is folded down over the top of Section 3.

From your first patterned paper cut a piece 5-1/2" x 5-3/4". Adhere to cover. Cut a coordinating patterned paper to 5-3/4" x 1". Adhere this piece about 1/2" from the bottom of the first patterned paper.Place your embellishment on the strip of smaller paper wherever you think it looks good.

Open your cover so that you are working on the back side of your cover. Cut a piece of paper from your third patterned paper to measure 5-3/4" x 4". From a fourth piece of patterned paper cut a piece measuring 5-3/4" x 2". Adhere the larger patterned paper piece to the bottom of Section 2 and adhere the smaller piece to the upper part of Section 2. The two pieces will slightly overlap. Cover the seam of the 2 patterned pieces with rickrack or ribbon. The photo below shows the inside of all sections 2, 3 and 4.

Using the same two patterned papers cut one 5-3/8" x 4" and the other at 5-3/8" x 2, but reverse which is the smaller and which is the bigger than you did for the page above. Adhere the larger of the two pieces to the right side and the smaller to the left side of section 3, slighly overlapping. Cover the seam again with rickrack or ribbon.

For the inside of section 2 use any of the patterned papers and cut a piece 5-5/8" x 4" and a coordinating piece at 5-5/8" x 2". Adhere the larger patterned paper to the top portion of the inside of Section 3 and the smaller to the lower section. They will overlap a little. Cover the seam with rickrack or ribbon.

Add pictures and embellish your mini scrapbook as desired.
