I must apologize that there hasn't been a newsletter in a couple of months. I have just been so busy with work that I haven't been able to devote much time to my beloved mini scrapbook obsession. The good news is that I've hired some help, so I should have more time to create!

What's New At Making Mini Scrapbooks

I did manage to get a few small projects posted though and I wanted to share those with you.

Just in time for Father's Day is an adorable origami shirt mini scrapbook . It can also be a card, but I prefer the mini album idea as you can do so much more with it.

Have you ever created a mini album that was a little "fat" and didn't want to close properly? Well, there is a very simple thing you can make to solve this problem. It's called a belly band and you can usually create one out of pieces of scrapbook paper in your srap bin.

I started another new section on the website on altered books . I haven't done a whole lot of altered book projects yet myself, but I thought it would be good to have a place to post them on the website when I do some. I would also like to invite you to submit your altered book projects. I would be thrilled to include them on the website and will even give you a link to your blog or website with credit for your submission. All you have to do is take a few pics and write a few words about how you made it. You can e-mail me personally at devitt@jps.net if you are interested in submitting an altered book or a project for any part of the website. To get us started I posted an altered cookbook that I made with a children's cookbook I got at a yard sale.

Around the Net

In one of the previous newsletters I mentioned some videos that I saw on Teesha Moore. Well, she just made four more videos on creating fabric art journals. I have an absolute love (almost obsession) with fabric, so I got pretty excited when I saw these! I can't wait to get going on them!

Speaking of art journaling, I just saw that there is a new book out called The Journal Junkies Workshop: Visual Ammunition for the Art Addict This book looks absolutely yummy!

Another really cool mini scrapbook project I came across is another file folder mini album. I know I have a file folder mini album on the website, but this one is completely different and I think you'll really enjoy it!

Monthly Contest and Prize Giveaway

I know that many of you have some outstanding scrapbooking blogs and I want to start doing a Blog Spotlight each month. So to enter this month's contest, I want you to give me your blog's website address for possile spotlight status in one of the upcoming newsletters. The prize this month is a set of mini scrapbooks, including a tabbed chipboard album, a Ruler Book from Tim Holtz and a peek-a-book chipboard album. To be entered in this contest just e-mail me your blog's address. E-mail me at devitt@jps.net. I will keep them all on file and spotlight one in the newsletter each month. I will also lis it on the Blogs and Shops section of the website if it has a heavy mini scrapbook theme.

I did list a bunch of stuff in my Etsy shop last week with very low prices. I just want to close out some inventory, so there are some really good deals there. I have a few more things to list yet too.

Happy spring and I'll have more projects on the website for you soon!
