Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas dear friends! I pray you all have a wonderful holiday season full of joy and good times with your families and friends.
Our Yahoo! Mini Books group did a 6 x 6 Christmas page swap for us to create a mini album for our Christmas photos. There have also been ATC, inchies, fat book pages, a mystery supplies swap and a themed book swap, Flying Friends. Not to mention our ongoing circle books that travel amongst the members until they finally make it back home to us. If you haven't joined this fun group yet, I personally invite you to do so!

New Projects on Making-Mini-Scrapbooks.com

This month I added a tutorial on making fabric embellishments in the scrapbooking techniques section. It's all that fabric I inherited. It just begs to be used! You can find the tutorial here.

I am reorganizing some of the website and started a section on recycled books. I moved the jean pocket scrapbook there and added a gum wrapper chain book. These make really cool journals or sketchbooks. You really have to make one. They have such a nice padded feeling to them.

Prize Giveaway

This month's prize giveaway is a set of Tim Holtz Mixed Minis Grungeboard. There are 342 pieces in this set. To enter this month's contest, all you have to do is submit a project to our recycled books page. One winner will be randomly drawn from the entries. We all learn a lot from each other, so let's share those recycled scrapbook and journal project ideas! International entries are welcome! Just fill out the form on the page to submit. It's very easy. I look forward to seeing what you guys come up with.

Around the Net

I stumbled across the most amazing You Tube videos recently. If you have ever been interested in learning about art journaling I think you will love these videos as much as I did. I kid you not -- I would fall asleep and wake up thinking about making art journal pages. The videos really gave me the basics to get started. I am currently keeping two art journals. One in a composition notebook and the other is sort of a faith journal that I've been keeping awhile with favorite Bible verses and quotes. It's now taken a whole new direction with this art journaling, with painted pages and meaningful pieces from my Sunday sermon notes from church. Both journals seem to allow me to express myself in very unique ways. Anyway, without further ado, here is the link to those videos. Find the first one and watch them all!
