I got the instructions for this long envelope mini scrapbook from a video that Brook posted on Scrapbook.com. It is very similar to our envelope mini album tutorial except that was done with regular smaller envelopes and this one is done with the larger size, longer ones.
The only supplies you need for this are:
Take six long envelopes and seal them. Cut off the ends about 1/8 of an inch. You want your finished length after this step to be 9 inches. Score at 3-1/2 on one side and fold over.
Adhere the big part of the envelope to the small part of another envelope, keeping the big part in the back and the small part on the top. Make sure to place your adhesive about an 1/8 inch in from the edge and not right on the edge.
Decorate with scrapbook paper.
To make the flaps cut pieces of 4 by 6 double sided scrapbooking cardstock. Score at 3-1/2 inches. Put the long part inside the small envelope. These do tend to slip a bit, so I just used a tiny bit of double sided tape on one side so that they stay in place. These flaps also eliminate the need for decorating one side of your envelopes, which is nice.
It is optional if you want to use a circle punch to cut little half notches in the pockets to make grabbing tags out easier. Also, a nice touch that Brook did was to use a corner rounder to round the corners of the flaps.
Cut tags for each of the pockets. You can put a lot of photo mats throughout this book, as well as journaling spots. You can add embellishments throughout as you see fit. I used the Graphics 45 line of scrapbook paper called ABC Primer. So cute!
