Learn to Make Mini Scrapbooks

Mini scrapbooks encompass a couple of different areas of the scrapbooking world. There are pre-made mini albums that many different manufacturers are putting out these days. These are great -- fast and easy! All you have to do is add your photos and embellishments. These can be customized quite nicely into themed gifts. For example, I made my sister a small scrapbook for her birthday with the theme of our sisterhood. I brainstormed for several days thinking of every memory I could from our childhood and even adulthood. Every time a memory came to me I would write it down. Then I gathered all the photos I could find of my sister and me, even raiding my mom's stash (thank you, Mom). I put this all together in a ready-made scrapbook as a one-of-a-kind gift for my dear sister. She loved it!

I also recently used a Making Memories Boho Chic Mini Album to create a little scrapbook for my nephew and his new bride. They eloped to Reno so they didn't have the big wedding with all the trimmings. They really liked the album I made for them though.

The other kind of mini scrapbook is one you hand make yourself. These include paper bag books, envelope books, accordion books, star books, maze books, matchbooks, mini file folder books, library pocket books, coffee filter books, flag books, flip books, tag books, et cetera.

I love these kinds of scrapbooks, particularly when they have lots of pockets and tags! I love pull-outs and doors and little hidden treasures.

Making your own scrapbooks gives you such a sense of accomplishment. You can easily complete one in an afternoon or a weekend.

Handmade scrapbooks make fabulous gifts. I love it when I give a gift and the recipient will say, "You made this?! Wow!" It makes me feel so good and I know they appreciate the effort that went into creating a special scrapbook just for them.

I take lots and lots of pictures when I am with my family and friends, so I always have a good variety of photos to draw ideas from to make these special gifts.

Mini scrapbooks are actually not that difficult to make, and I'm always pleasantly surprised when I complete one at how easy it really was.

My goal is to show you how easy and enjoyable these scrapbooks are to make for yourself by giving you clear step-by-step instructions, as well as photographs to help you on your way to making your own mini scrapbooks.

I want to invite every visitor to this site to join our Mini Books Yahoo group. This is a fun group of mini scrapbook enthusiasts. On this group we do swaps and challenges, as well as share ideas about making mini scrapbooks. Every month there is a prize drawing for a fun, mini scrapbook related prize. It's great fun and I would love for you to join us! See below for info on joining the Yahoo! Mini Books group.
